clone a site

Hi,

how can I clone a site?Is there somthing similar to DNN templates for a site? I have to make few similar websites with same structure, so i would like prepare one site and make copies of it to do some site specific changes. Is it possibble in mojoportal?Note: I don't want to make full copies, I need it to be many similar sites in one installation.

Thanks.

Re: clone a site

You can't clone a site.

You can create some config files that will determine initial pages and what features are on them when a new site is created.

http://www.mojoportal.com/configuring-initial-content.aspx

By default I only package a config file to create a home page in new installations, but for example on demo.mojoportal.com I use a set of custom files so that every time the demo site is recreated its gets the same set of pages with features on them. It is fairly limited in that for most features all it can do is put the feature on the page, only for the main Html feature does it also allow you to configure some initial html content.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: clone a site

There is no tool at this point, I just use a text editor.

Best,

Re: clone a site

Note that this is an old thread from back in February.

Where I previously said it is only possible to populate the Html feature is no longer true, we have a way to Populate Feature Content for most features now. I use this still to populate the demo site but now I can populate many more features, even the blog and WebStore features.

Best,

Joe
