Multiple hostnames to pages on main site?

Hi Joe and all,

In our installation, we will be creating several child sites, for divisions that need their own separate skin and menus. I'm planning to implement the multiple sites via hostname, since that sounds like the method with the least drawbacks.

Now, in our current site (traditional HTML), we also have divisions who purchase domain names just to have them pointing to a single page within our main site. This isn't currently a problem because we just set up our DNS and IIS to point those domains to the appropriate subdirectory.

Is there any way to do these kind of redirects to pages within the main site of mojoPortal? I know I can get around this by creating mojoPortal child sites for all of the hostnames, but I'd prefer to avoid the overhead of having to maintain separate sites and parallel content for these "one page" domain names. We're using IIS 7 on Windows Server 2008, in case that matters.

Thanks much!

Re: Multiple hostnames to pages on main site?

Hi Jamie,

I would recommend look into the free Url Rewrite Module for IIS. I think you could create rules to re-direct based on host names.

Hope it helps,

Joe
