Using png instead of gif

Using png instead of gif

Hey Joe,

It is not that big thing, but I wonder if it's possible to change the gif icons to png icons in the forum module.

FamFam has some nice png's and it would be great if you can change pencil.gif and thread.gif to corresponding png's from famfam.
But also use a different icon near the reply link.

Just a small feature request.

Hey Joe,

I did some research (by accident ;)) and the pencil.gif is change (EditContentImage web.config key). I also changed the "ForumThreadImage" key, but it didn't give me what I expected: it changed the icon near the "reply" link, but the icon next every thread is still the icon of the folder. Perhaps this is a bug, perhaps i can not change this. Can you check that please? If i can do that than you don't have to do anything ;)

Hi Stef,

I will put it on my to do list. I had checked out the FamFamFam silk icons several years ago but the attribution requirement of the license was a problem because it would have meant all mojo sites must have a  link to FamFamFam.

But some time since then FamFamFam Silk Icons, added a dual license under Creative Commons 3 and the attribution requirement was softened to he appreciates a reference rather than a hard requirement (apparently he did this so the icons could be used in Debian Linux).

So with the newer alternate license it is now compatible and possible to use the icons in mojoPortal without passing on an attribution requirement to all mojoPortal users. Actually using a few of them already in the new file manager UI.
