Web Hosting for Mojo

Hello,

Couple of months ago I found the amazing MojoPortal. Now, I want to get a hosting package that include or allow the installation
MojoPortal. I saw the www.1and1.com options in the hosting section of mojoportal.com but did not found any description or indication that mojo
will run in their hosting packages.

I will appreciate any feedback of www.1and1.com or any other options.

Regards,

Jose

Re: Web Hosting for Mojo

1and1.com is only good for dedicated server hosting, I don't recommend them at all for shared hosting.

It "should" be possible to host mojoportal anywhere that has ASP.NET 3.5 SP1 and MS SQL.

We have a list of some hosts on our hosting page.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Web Hosting for Mojo

I personally do not recommend GoDaddy. While mojoPortal will install and run on their servers, they are prone to having ridiculous configurations on their servers and generally speaking they're not a good shared hosting provider.

Re: Web Hosting for Mojo

I've had good luck using ReliableSite.net to host mojo sites on their very inexpensive shared hosting plan.

There are some "gotchas" to be aware of, but I suspect they are common to most low-cost shared hosting plans.  For example, your app pools will recycle frequently, which makes session state unreliable (haven't seen a problem on mojo with this, but have on other sites I've developed).  And responses to support requests can be slow.  But overall, I am very happy with them for the value they provide for the cost.
