WYSIWYG missing, jquery not working.. totally mistified

O/S - Windows

DB - MS SQL 2k5

Version - 2.2.7

Well, I was playing around with adding my own jquery plugin, following a guide I found in the forums. I of course backed up my skin and database before doing this.

To make a long story short I couldn't get it working,  it would mess up the format of the entire site.

Anyways, I was experimenting, and refreshed, suddenly the site just hung..so I recycled the app pool. I finally got the site to load, but now all wysiwyg editors don't show when I try to edit a page, and none of the jquery tabs/accordions I was using display.

I restored the DB backup, and re-uploaded version 2.2.7 files (all of them) and tried changing skins, all to no avail. All I did was make a user control (well, tried to) and added it to the layout.master. As far as I can tell all the .js files and the usercontrol I added are deleted. I also recycled the app pool again.

Could it be that my DB is just not restoring properly?

Help appreciated !

Ah stupid me, I forgot to run Setup after restoring the files. Fixed it for now, but I am still going to play with this, really want to be able to add my own plugins!

Anyways, for the future, any idea what I could have done to screw things up? Do I have to add a custom module for every plugin like in the example

I would like to help but I can't because I don't know what errors you received when creating and implementing your control.

If you are experimenting on a production site, I would suggest creating a new site (in a sub-domain possibly), copying your current site to that site, and then experimenting on it.
