bug: Posting to 2 blogs in different subdomains with windows live writer

using multiple blogs on different subdomains and posting with windows live writer seems not to work correctly.  It seems to always be posting to the main domain.

i.e. if I have

www.mydomain.com/blog.aspx  (which has a content instance of a blog)

and

sub1.mydomain.com/blog2.aspx

then using live writer to post to blog2 has the effect that it shows up in the blog of the main domain.   Does each subdomain have a separate listener for posting from windows live writer???

Re: bug: Posting to 2 blogs in different subdomains with windows live writer

Hi,

When you configured the blog in Windows Live Writer, there are 2 urls to enter, the blog url and the service url. Are you positive that when you set them up you used the correct host name for each in both urls?

I mean, the service url for the first blog should be

http://www.mydomain.com/metaweblogapi.ashx

and the second one must have

http://sub1.mydomain.com/metaweblogapi.ashx

Hope it helps,

Joe

I can assure that is working perfectly

I have 5 mojoportals in 5 different subdomains, all of them are working with WLW

Great Job, Joe

Re: bug: Posting to 2 blogs in different subdomains with windows live writer

Thank you for the pointers,

actually I have tried this (i.e. using the subdomain prefix, but for me it doesn't work.  I think it might be linked to my provied, as I needed to use A records etc. to get the subdomains working.  I will investigate further, if I find a solution I will post it here.

cheers,

craig
