Document library module?

Document library module?

Is there a module/feature that supports a document/media library? What I'm looking for is the ability to upload files such as documents, images, music or video that can later be referenced in a gallery or a link from another page.

Will that allow me to describe what the file is? It seems to be just a way to manage files on a server. What I was hoping for was to have a library of files that can be listed and categorized by categories (folders) and then have a description explaining what the file is.

No, it doesn't look like it will do that. You may want to add that as a feature request.

I plan to implement a media management system to make it easy to store and browse all kinds of media, I just don't have a timeframe for it yet. Once I've completed the items currently on my road map, I will update the road map with the next phase of planned improvements.
