Wrong image path from editor

Hi
I have set up a folder based multilingual site. Root site has ID=1 and first subsite (in folder "en") has ID=2.

UseRelatedSiteMode=true

All settings and logins work fine.

When I open the file manager from site 1, I can add images to the "img" folder.

When editing a page in site 1, I can select the image from "img", and it is placed as: src="/Data/Sites/1/media/img/test.png". Which is correct.

When switching to site 2, and opening the file manager, I see the same images and folders (i.e. "img") that were already uploaded from site 1.

And when inserting an image with the editor in site 2, selecting from the file explorer that shows the images from site 1, the image is placed as: src="/Data/Sites/2/media/img/test.png". But this path is wrong, so the image is not shown.

So I have no possibilites to upload and select images in site 2 and other subsites.

What can I do?

Thanks in advance
Max

Hi

Noone else having this problem with child sites?
Would really appreciate a hint, because currently the uploaded images cannot be selected from any child sites.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks  a lot
Max

Re: Wrong image path from editor

Hi Max,

Actually, related sites mode isn't supposed to allow you to browse the files in the other sites. Related Sites Mode is really just for sharing users and roles between sites.

A fix in the upcoming version will make the child site file manager work "properly" in that it will not allow you to browse the files of the main site.

I can see the ability to have a location where multiple sites can see and use files would be very nice. We'll add it to our to-do list.

Thanks,
Joe

Re: Wrong image path from editor

Hi Joe,

Thank you so much for your answers. Really appreciate having someone around who knows the system by heart.

So you are saying this is a bug in the current release that a sub site is not able to have its own file manager?

You are writing that in the next release you will hide the browsing of files of the main site from a sub site. But important is that it will be possible to browse files from the sub site itself. Will that be possibel then? And when are you planning to release a next version?

Thanks a lot
Max
