Custom Menu - Settings Access Denied

Post here if you have questions about creating SuperFlexi Solutions.

The SuperFlexi documentation is very thorough, so you might want to start there.

Custom Menu - Settings Access Denied

Hi!

I have installed version 2.6 with Scout skin (and I love it), I was tryng to modify the settings of the super-flex pane containing the custom menu by clicking the settings link on the page, but the system says

"Sorry, you are not allowed to edit this content. If you have questions about your permissions, please contact a site administrator.

Return to Site Home"

The problem is that I am a site administrator.

I've seen I can modify the titles via code  modifying the layout.master, but what happens if I have to modify without accessing the code? Can I do it?

Thanks in advance.

Mari

Re: Custom Menu - Settings Access Denied

Hi Mari,

We've been looking into a fix for this issue. For now, you can change the titles without accessing code, here's the steps:

  1. Click "Administration" in your admin bar on the left.
  2. Click "Content Manager".
  3. Find your module(s) that you'd like to modify the settings for (you can search by title or by feature type or both)
  4. Click "Publish/delete" on the far right of the module(s) listing in the content manager table.
  5. Find any page you'd like to publish the module to (you can create a page that only administrators can see for this purpose, if you'd like).
  6. Click the green plus button next to that page's name in the table.
  7. Click the checkbox that appears in the "published" column.
  8. Then click the "update" button.
  9. Now you can scroll down to your footer and hit "settings" and it should let you in to edit the settings, including the moduletitle.

I know this is a bit of a hassle, but at least it doesn't require editing any skin code.

Hope this helps!

Re: Custom Menu - Settings Access Denied

I am not sure if this should be posted here or not but here goes..

I am having a similar issue. I am in the process of working on a local site that has been successfully upgraded to 2.6 using the scout skin.

I can successfully modify all content as needed however when i try to modify the footer custom menu settings i get the dreaded

Sorry, you are not allowed to edit this content. If you have questions about your permissions, please contact a site administrator.

I don't believe I can follow the same solution provided above on the footer menu.  any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated..

FYI, I am getting the same error on the demo site..

Here are the steps to reproduce...

  • Open the demo site
  • login as admin
  • scroll to the bottom footer and click the settings link
  • you should get the message as described above.

I am going to modify the values in the database table for now to get it going and will monitor here for a solution..

Re: Custom Menu - Settings Access Denied

Hi Joe,

This is fixed in the release of mojo that will be released very soon. The workaround detailed by Isaac on this thread will work for you as well.

Thanks,
Joe D.
