Contact Form - Tracking IP addresses

Is there a way to track IP addresses of people that have completed the form. We are getting SPAM at the moment and we have no way of stopping this. Currently our email system is using an SMTP relay on a webserver to our exchange server. If there is an easy way on mojoportal to carry this out that would be great.

Re: Contact Form - Tracking IP addresses

Hello,

Are you using Form Wizard Pro, or just the Contact Form? I'm not sure about the built-in Contact Form, but if you build any form with Form Wizard Pro you can view the IP that each submission was made from by clicking the "Administration" link above the module, then clicking "Submission Data", and then clicking "Browse Submissions" (not "submission grid", the one next to it). The IP should be there near the top of each listing.

Hope this helps,

-Isaac

Re: Contact Form - Tracking IP addresses

I just went looking in the Contact Form and found that you can view the IP address from each submission by hitting "View Messages" in the module title, then clicking the "View" button at the bottom left of each submission. Near the bottom you'll see User Agent, Remote Host, Remote Address, and Local Address listed.

Re: Contact Form - Tracking IP addresses

I am looking at the contact form and I can see a small settings link for the form. I cannot see a view messages option. Is there anywhere in the administration that can get me to the same location?

Also not using Forms Wizard Pro. Just the regular contact form.

Re: Contact Form - Tracking IP addresses

In that case it seems most likely that you don't have the form configured to store messages in the database, only to email them. If you click the settings link you mentioned, there should be a checkbox labeled "Keep Messages?" -- make sure that this box is checked. There is also another option labeled "Append Visitor IP to Message?", which should be checked as well for your purposes.

Sorry, I should have mentioned those options earlier it just didn't occur to me that the form you're working on might have been configured away from the defaults already. I hope this helps.
