source code moved to github

fyi, I have migrated the mojoportal code repository over to github
https://github.com/joeaudette/mojoportal

Any future commits or code changes will be made there.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I am using git for all my other projects and it gets first class support in VS 2015. I don't want to have to keep TortoiseHG installed since I'm not using it for anything else. Also I've had numerous complaints about people having trouble pulling down the repo from codeplex, especially when getting the whole thing at once it has been very error prone and there have been some service outages at times there too. I'm optimistic that github will be more reliable. I've cloned it several times on different machines since migrating and it seems very stable.

feet planted firmly on the ground

Re: source code moved to github

Just to confirm I was able to clone from GitHub and build and run without any problems (using VS2013 Premium).

The README.VisualStudio.txt file needs some tweaks now (re Tortoise etc), and it was all rather mysterious where the DB connection strings should go - could do with a little explanation about what it uses on startup and how a new site is created, and when a user.config comes into play.

I cannot seem to either commit changes or create a pull request using the GitHub for Windows client. It's late!

But overall it worked - nice one.

Re: source code moved to github

In the past I used to tell people don't fork the code, but on github that is exactly what you should do. On github a fork is like a branch but in a separate repository that is your own. So you create a fork, clone your fork, commit changes to your fork, then you can submit changes that have been committed to your fork back to the original repo and you can also sync new changes from the original repo into your fork as needed.

If you go to the githib home page, they have some cartoons for github bootcamp that link to tutorials. I admit I've been using github for quite a while but only looked at those tutorials a few days ago and found them very helpful. It doesn't take long to go through all of them.
