Default Features for Child Sites

Default Features for Child Sites

Hi Joe,

Any possibility we can get a setting on Module Definitions (like the permissions) to set modules which are allowed on new child sites by default?

Hey Joe,

I'm pretty sure that when new sites are created the only features that get installed in the child site automatically are ones defined in the initial content files. All other features have to be added explicitely from the master site.

Hi Joe,

That's right. That's the way it works currently. I would like to be able enable other features, that don't have initial content configured, automatically in new sites.

I agree this would be a nice feature to have. I haven't created a new child site in a while, but adding access to use modules is always a step that I forget to do, until I get called by the web master wondering why she only has access to add HTML content on a page.

I've logged this request in the project tracker. I think it would be just extending the initial content feature to be able to install features even if they are not configured in initial content
