I can see the problem, but not the solution. I'd suggest you check the system log, and if there are entries being added when you attempt to sign in, post them here. Also think about what changed just before it stopped working (for example did you upgrade the site, or make some custom changes). Presumably you could sign in until recently, as you have created lots of content and altered the skin.

This bug appears when I update to version 2.3.9.0 and use artisteer-greenlagoon skin ( this skin is not available is this version).

The layout is nice but I cannot log in when I don't add "<portal:FacebookSdk ID="fbsdk" runat="server" />" in layout.master file.

When I add <portal:FacebookSdk ID="fbsdk" runat="server" />" in layout.master file, the layout is broken (Another skin was rendered, not artisteer-greenlagoon skin in use, you can view source to see them). However, I can log in well.

There's an updated version of artisteer-greenlagoon in the extra-skins.zip file on the mojoPortal Codeplex download page. So you can try that version of the skin and see if it takes care of any of your issues.

If there is an error in your layout.master file it will load a failsafe layout.master to keep from crashing the site and it will log the error. You should look for errors in Administration > System log related to your layout.master

My guess is you made some mistake when pasting in that control and that made it load a different master page.

I can't think of anything about a skin or about that facebook control that would prevent login.

The most likely thing to break login is if you are using encrypted passwords and you don't restore your machine key in web.config, it can lock out users because the machine key is used as part of the encryption, so if machine key is changed by an upgrade it could lock out users.
