Problem subscribing to forums in child site

I've added a new forum feature to a page, with some forums added. However when I click the "subscribe" link on any of these forums, the "subscribe" links disappear for all forums, and each still displays "0 Subscribers". I've tried this several times so it is not just a refresh issue.

Later... the same happens on the parent site.

Also, there is an "Edit email subscriptions" link that simply disappears and loads the same page when clicked.

Nothing in system log.

Operating System Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2

Re: Problem subscribing to forums in child site

I would compare the functionality on the demo site and see if it is the same, it is working correctly there.

I would try different skins to make sure you aren't missing some css or if something is hidden by css.

When you click the subscribe link it should take you to a different page that looks about the same but has checkboxes for subscribing and a button to apply the checkboxes.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Problem subscribing to forums in child site

Doh, I see now, and yes it is working fine.

I must admit I find this a bit confusing, and it wasn't just me - a colleague peered over my shoulder for a while and also didn't spot this. Now I know what it does, it seems obvious, but, thinking about possible improvements for you...

I was expecting the individual link against one particular forum to just do what it said - subscribe me to that forum (with no further action required). When it did something different my brain was thrown (not hard these days). Could it just do that?

And now I see the link at the bottom takes you to the same screen for managing subscriptions to all forums. No problems there.
