Thumbnail on blog listing

Hey,

I'm using the blog feature for a news page and need to have a list of new items, some with thumbnails some without

I think this wouldn't take to long to add a upload image upload field to editpost.aspx and display the thumb next to the excerpt.

I can do it and email the code if you like. Think it would be a nice addition to the blog feature.

Thanks

Tim

Re: Thumbnail on blog listing

You can easily just add a thumbnail image in the excerpt itself and position it on the right or left.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Thumbnail on blog listing

Yeh i could do that i suppose, i was enjoying mojoportal taking the first 200 words from my news story automatically.

I have to treat my users like bafoons as they wont remember to add an excerpt and enter a thumbnail in the excerpt.

Shall have a think about it and weigh up the pros and cons, thanks for the suggestion

Cheers

Tim

Re: Thumbnail on blog listing

Tim,

I sure would use this feature if you decide to do it.

What I would really like is the ability to upload an image with each news item/blog entry and have an automatic thumbnail of the image displayed on the summary page.  While it could be done manually in the excerpt, the end-users don't want to fiddle with writing excerpts when the system will pull the first part of the text automatically.  Allowing them to add an image and have an automatic thumbnail created would simplify their life even more, not to mention reducing problems and their associated support requests.

Re: Thumbnail on blog listing

Hi Kuman,

I think thats a really good idea and agree it would make the user experience much simpler.

I think i will introduce something like this after the initial launch of my site, as i have a lot to do before hand, so might be a couple of months from now. Shall let you know when i've done it.

Thanks

Tim
