Web Store Terms & Conditions
Web Store Terms & Conditions
Hi Joe,
Just wondering if I'm missing something somewhere… Is there a way to require a user to agree to terms & conditions during the checkout process in the webstore?
Thanks,
Joe D.

Re: Web Store Terms & Conditions
No, there are no hidden features in WebStore, it is very basic functionality.
You can require users to sign in or register and use the registration agreement for terms of use of the entire web site, there is no separate terms of use for the webstore portion of a site.
There is no per product prompting nor checkout prompting of any kind especially since completion of checkout often happens off site at PayPal or Google. I'm also not planning on adding any such functionality any time soon.
Best,
Joe

Re: Web Store Terms & Conditions
This seems adequate as things stand - I've done a site (http://www.breconfans.org.uk/enter) where users have to register before they can purchase, and once they have done so there is a T&Cs statement on the store page "Declaration: entering the races on-line constitutes acceptance that you participate in these events at your own risk and accept that the organisers shall not be liable for any accident, injury or loss as a consequence of your participation. You agree to abide by UKA rules and obey marshals’ instructions." This gives all the assurance I need - it is (I think - not tested in court!) the equivalent of the signed form they would otherwise complete on the day.
This is a fantastic feature that has worked really well for me, though I can see it would fall short for more complex online shops.

Re: Web Store Terms & Conditions
Hi Joe,
Didn't mean to imply that I thought something was hidden. I just couldn't remember and was heading out the door but needed to get an answer for a client.
I think the current functionality is fine.
Thanks,
Joe D.
