mojoPortal Store - Grand Opening!

I'm happy to announce the Grand Opening of the mojoPortal Store!

We actually had a semi-grand opening a few weeks ago, but all you could do in the store until now is buy me a beer. Many Thanks to the kind folks who have bought me a beer since then! I really appreciated the beers and it really helped to be able to test the ecommerce before launching my first real product.

Event Calendar Pro is now on sale!

Yo can get a Single Installation License for $99 or a Server License for $299, or an Enterprise License with Full Source Code for $899

Checkout the product detail page for more info and screen shots, or watch this video for a guided tour of features.

Please Nominate mojoPortal for the 2008 CMS Awards

Hey friends and supporters of mojoPortal, its that time of year again. The nominations are open for this year's CMS Awards. Last year we did very well and won the Non-PHP category. This year I think its an even bigger challenge and the competition will be very tough. The first step to getting into this year's competition is to get nominated so please nominate mojoPortal. You can nominate us for Overall Winner, Most Promising, and Best Other (Non-PHP). This year they also have an MVP award for "an individual that deserves recognition for the contribution to the development and running of an Open Source Content Management System". If you like the way I'm running the project and the work I'm doing or I have helped you in the forums please consider nominating me (Joe Audette).

We really need as many nominations as we can get so please nominate us today and help spread the word!

mojoPortal.com Makeover

With all the nice looking new skins from my recent skinning campaign, I decided it was time to give mojoPortal.com a makeover. The previous design was about 2 years old and was starting to look a little dated. I also wanted to reduce the clutter on the home page and try to have a more succinct marketing message. I think in the past I've thought that most of my audience were developers so I was packing in a lot of technical information on the home page, but over time I've come to realize I should be targeting more towards business people and emphasizing the business value of mojoPortal more than the technical merits, at least on the home page. So I hope you like the new look!

mojoPortal Wins Best Other Open Source Content Management System

I'm very excited to announce that mojoPortal has won "Best Other Open Source Content Management System" in the 2007 Open Source CMS Awards sponsored by PACKT Publishing. (Other means built on something other than PHP, mojoPortal is built on C# ASP.NET)

mojoPortal Wins Best Non-PHP Open Source CMS

Huge thanks to our community and the judges and the good folks at Packt Publishing for honoring us with this award!

We appreciate the recognition and the additional attention the project has received by participating in this contest and are very pleased to have won our category.

Now we can introduce mojoPortal as "The Award Winning Content Management System, mojoPortal" ;-) I'm sure I'll be very obnoxious saying this at every opportunity!

America Recycles Day Site Goes Live with mojoPortal

The National Recycling Coalition has just gone live with a new sub site for America Recycles Day, which is coming up on November 15.

I was fortunate enough to work on the project with the good folks at DDB Seattle. They did all the design work and my job was achieving their design in mojoPortal and building a couple of custom features like the Take The Pledge and Pass on The Pledge pages. Its nice to be involved in such a good cause. Recycling is something where each of us can make a difference with just a little effort and America Recycles Day is a good time to take a moment and commit to stepping up our efforts to recycle on an individual basis.
